Dr. Bo Hu originally graduated from the Dental College of West China University of Medical Sciences in 1988. After graduation, he continued his specialty training as an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon for 5 years there.In 1993, Dr. Hu received his PhD degree and became an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon. He had since worked as a clinician, educator and researcher in the University Hospital. Two years later, he was appointed as Clinical Associate Professor due to his work of merit.
In 1996, Dr. Hu was invited to work with the world’s top dental researchers to advance his dental knowledge and experience in the University of California San Francisco (UCSF), University of Minnesota and University of Toronto as a visiting scholar.
After immigrating to Canada, Dr. Hu enrolled in UBC’s DMD degree program to get recertified in Canada. Two years later, he got his Canadian dental degree-- Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) in 2003. Since then he has been practicing dentistry in the lower mainland; Richmond Centre, Parker Place, and Henderson Place are just a few examples. So far he has had about 22 years’ dental clinical experience.
Dr. Hu has published about 30 scientific papers and given 15 oral or poster presentations at various dental or scientific meetings in North America. Dr. Hu enjoys doing dental implants, orthodontic treatments, oral surgery, and endodontic treatments.
Dr. Hu speaks fluent Mandarin and English. Also he attended VCC’s Cantonese class and can understand Cantonese and speak technical Cantonese. During his leisure time, Dr. Hu enjoys swimming, jogging and traveling. Working closely with office’s staff members, he will strive to provide quality dental care to you.
