The Hawaii Chinese Association (HCA) has been in existence for ¼ century. Our objective is to be the gathering place of people who embrace freedom and democracy and to develop friendship among members. Our Association promotes cultural exchanges by staging cultural events for the community. The Association also helps train members’ in knowledge and skill development. We also provide community service for the attainment of the physical and mental well being for our members and the Community.
We are the pre-eminent Chinese organization in Hawaii for people to gather and celebrate all our special holidays. Our cultural activities include the Chinese New Year Celebration in February, Chinese Singing Competition in May, & the August Moon festival in the fall. We also sponsor various performances by artists from China or Taiwan.
Our charitable activities include scholarship donations to the Chinese Music Department at the University of Hawaii, scholarship donations for college students, donations & visits to the Palolo Chinese (nursing) home and various Hospitals on Mother’s day, Father’s Day and Christmas. We also donate to various emergencies, such as the Taiwan Earthquake victims, the 9/11 bombings, the South East Asia Tsunami victims & the Hurricane Katrina victims.
Our educational activities include adult dancing classes, adult Computer training classes, as well as Medical Seminars for Senior Citizens.
