    Al Maktoum International Airport (IATA: DWC, ICAO: OMDW) is located in the city of Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, and is the largest international airport in the United Arab Emirates. The airport is located about 50 km west of Abu Dhabi city and about 30 km from Abu Dhabi city center. The airport was invested and built by the government of the United Arab Emirates, and was officially opened on October 27, 2013 as the third international airport in the United Arab Emirates. The airport has two runways, one of which is 4.5 km long and can accommodate large passenger aircraft, and the other is 3.7 km long and can accommodate medium-sized passenger aircraft. The airport has two terminals, one of which has an area of 70,000 square meters and the other of 40,000 square meters. The airport has more than 100 gates to accommodate different types of passenger aircraft. The airport also has more than 3,000 parking spaces for different types of aircraft. The airport also has more than 50 stores and restaurants to cater to the shopping and dining needs of passengers.
