Pyongyang Sunan International Airport is located in the Sunan District of Pyongyang, the capital city of North Korea, and is the largest international airport and the most important international aviation hub in the country. The airport was originally named Pyongyang Airport in 1929, Sunan Airport in 1947 and Pyongyang Sunan International Airport in 1953. The airport has a main runway, 2.4 km long and 45 meters wide, which can accommodate large passenger planes. The airport has a domestic terminal, an international terminal, a cargo terminal and other facilities to accommodate domestic and international passengers, cargo and other air services. The airport can accommodate more than 500,000 passengers per year and is one of the most important international aviation hubs in North Korea.
