    Fairbanks Air Force Base (FAFB), located in Fairbanks, Alaska, is a base of the United States Air Force and home to the headquarters of the 11th Air Force. The airport at Fairbanks Air Force Base is Fairbanks International Airport (FYU), an international airport and the largest airport in the state of Alaska. Located approximately 20 miles west of the city of Fairbanks and about 20 miles from downtown Fairbanks, Fairbanks Airport is a mixed-use airport with a runway that can accommodate the takeoff and landing of large passenger aircraft.
