    Heraklion Airport (IATA: HER, ICAO: LGIR) is the second largest airport in Greece, located in the city of Heraklion, in the central Greek province of Heraklion, about 90 km from Athens. The airport is operated by the Greek government and is one of the most important international airports in Greece, as well as the largest military airport in the country.
