Xishuangbanna Gasha Airport (IATA: JHG, ICAO: ZPJH) is located in Jinghong City, Xishuangbanna Dai Autonomous Prefecture, Yunnan Province, China, and is the only civil airport in Xishuangbanna region and the third largest airport in Yunnan Province. The airport is located in the southeast of Jinghong City, about 20 km from the center of Jinghong and 50 km from the center of Xishuangbanna.
Xishuangbanna Gasha Airport was officially opened to traffic on December 28, 1996, which is the third largest airport in Yunnan Province and the only civil airport in Xishuangbanna region. The airport has a 2.8 km runway, which can accommodate both B737 series airliners and A320 series airliners. The airport has a four-story terminal building, which can accommodate more than 1,000 people in and out at the same time.
Xishuangbanna Gashan Airport currently has 20 domestic routes, including routes to Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Chengdu, Chongqing, Kunming, Guiyang, Wuhan, Xi`an, Changsha, Hangzhou, Nanjing, Xiamen, Haikou, Sanya, Guilin, Urumqi, Harbin and other cities.
The future development plan of Xishuangbanna Gashan Airport is that by 2020, the airport will be built into an international class airport with a 3.5 km runway that can accommodate A320 series airliners and B737 series airliners, with an annual passenger flow of 2 million passengers.
