Luoyang North Suburban Airport (IATA: LYA, ICAO: ZHLY) is located in the northern suburbs of Luoyang City, which is the second largest airport in Henan Province and an important transportation hub of Luoyang City. The airport is about 30 kilometers from downtown Luoyang, about 20 kilometers from Luoyang Railway Station and about 25 kilometers from downtown Luoyang. The airport was officially opened to traffic on December 28, 2006, and is the first civil airport built in Luoyang City.
Luoyang North Suburban Airport has a 2.8 km runway, which can accommodate large passenger planes such as B737 and A320 at the same time, and can meet the flight demand of domestic and foreign airlines. The airport has a domestic terminal building, which can accommodate 800 people at the same time, with security check, check-in, baggage claim, business lounge and other service facilities. The airport can carry about 200 flights per day and has opened a number of domestic routes, including Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Chongqing, Xi`an, Kunming, Chengdu, Changsha, Hangzhou, Wuhan, Nanjing, Qingdao, Xiamen, Jinan, Zhengzhou, Harbin, Dalian, Ningbo, Guiyang, Urumqi and other cities.
