CCAT is a non-political, non-religious, and a not-for-profit organization that was specifically formed to serve the Chinese-Australian community in Tasmania,Hobart.
For more than 47 years it has been providing community services such as aged home care, aged day care, dementia service, interest classes and Chinese language classes as well as organizing various cultural and Chinese festival events throughout the year. CCAT has also organized and been involved in various activities promoting multiculturalism and anti-racism as well as fundraising for victims of natural disasters.
Since its establishment in 1969 many individuals over many generation (including life members) have joined CCAT as members.
CCAT receives council grants for specific programs that are of benefit to the community. But it is also dependent on fundraising activities to maintain the level and quality of services needed to carry out its activities. So far, with the generosity and support of corporate sponsors, donors, members, and the public, CCAT has been successful in the delivery of its services.
