Mei S. Chen graduated from Benjamin N. Cardozo school of Law of New York Yeshiva University with a J.D. Degree. With a New York State license, Ms. Chen is also qualified in federal court of Eastern District, Southern District and Federal Appellate Court, 3rd Circuit. Ms. Chen is a member of American Immigration Lawyer Association, New York State Bar Association and New York City Bar Association. Ms. Chen serves as legal counsel for a number of organizations in the community, including Council of Chinese American Association of New York, Sino-American Cultural and Educational Institute and New York Vocal Artists Research Center.
In 1997, Ms. Chen joined Caesar & Napoli in charge of immigration department. From 1998 through 2005, Ms. Chen joined Malman & Goldman, LLP. Her practice areas included immigration, real estate and commercial transactions.
Ms. Chen’s practice areas concentrate in family and employment related immigration and naturalization. She has been particularly well known for her expertise in self-petition as battered spouse and “U” petition as crime victims under Violence Against Women Act of the U.S. Immigration Laws. Over the past decade, Ms. Chen has successfully assisted countless domestic violence victims and crime victims, including women, children and men alike, in obtaining “green card” without their abusers’ sponsorship. In addition, Ms. Chen is a seasoned attorney in real estate, business and commercial transactions based on her 7 years working experience at Malman & Goldman, LLP, a major real estate and banking law firm.
