Obscure Sound is an indie music site that I formed in February 2006 out of a love for finding new and emerging quality music. My name is Mike Mineo and I’m the site’s founder and editor. I wrote for PopMatters and Stylus Magazine a few years before forming OS.
This site’s aim is to provide music fans with the latest and greatest music, preferably from artists you’ve never heard of before. We provide streaming and/or downloadable audio in addition to accompanying write-ups. Most of our content is track-focused, with an option for listeners to hear more.
Other content includes interviews, contests, and compilations. At the beginning of most months, the best-featured MP3s from the previous month are bundled into one convenient file for your listening pleasure. Check the MP3 compilations out here.
