Ravenscroft`s history began in 1862 when the will of Dr. Josiah Ogden Watson, a physician and prominent North Carolina statesman, was entered into the court records of Wake County.
Campus
Ravenscroft`s tree-lined 125-acre campus is nestled in the heart of North Raleigh. Our extraordinary facilities include: dedicated library for Lower School; Middle and Upper School Library & Technology Center; Fine Arts Center with a a gallery, a 460-seat theatre and a 200-seat flexible performance space; 13 science labs; a 350-seat Dining Hall; and a Health Center. Divisions
Ravenscroft serves students in prekindergarten through grade 12 and is divided into three divisions: Lower School, Middle School, and Upper School, each with individual directors. The enrollment of the School is approximately 1,190 students.
Academics
Typically, 100 percent of graduates pursue their education beyond the secondary level. In 2012, 231 students wrote 489 AP exams with 87 percent of the scores being a "3" or better. We offer 24 AP classes in our curriculum. The Class of 2012 with 115 students achieved an SAT average of 1284 (Critical Reading and Math) or 1919 (Critical Reading, Math, and Writing).
