San Jose-Tainan Sister City Association (SJTSCA) was formally incorporated as a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization in the State of California in November 2009. SJTSCA's predecessor "San Jose-Tainan Sister City Committee" was operated under the Pacific Neighborhood Inc. (PNI) for 30 years. SJTSCA received its tax-exempt recognition from the Internal Revenue Service in March 2010 and from the California Franchise Tax Board in May 2010.
San Jose-Tainan Sister City Association is a PUBLIC BENEFIT nonprofit corporation that is organized and operated exclusively for charitable purposes. Specifically, this nonprofit corporation is organized and operated to foster and promote the friendship and partnership between the cities of San Jose, California, USA and Tainan, Taiwan.
