Tony Lau Insurance Agencies In 1981 Mr. Tony T. K. Lau founded the Company with the first location in King Edward and Oak St. area, Vancouver. In 1984 the Company, making its first major expansion, moved to the south side of the current Vancouver Main St. building. The area occupied was more than double. In 1992 Tony Lau Insurance opened its second branch in Richmond at No. 3 Road and Cambie. In 1995 Tony Lau Insurance expanded to the north side of the Vancouver Main St. building, again doubling in size. In 1998 Tony Lau Insurance acquired Focus Insurance Agencies at its current location in Richmond Centre Mall, the largest mall in Richmond. By 1998 the Company served the public from three different branches: a head office branch in Vancouver, and two branches in Richmond.
