Dongsha Airport (IATA: DSX, ICAO: VDSX) is located in Dongsha Islands, Hainan Province, China, and is the only civil airport in Hainan Province. Officially opened to traffic on December 28, 2006, Dongsha Airport is the third civil airport in Hainan Province and the first island airport in Hainan Province. Dongsha Airport is located in the southwest of the central island of the Dongsha Islands, about 200 kilometers from Haikou City, Hainan Province and 150 kilometers from Sanya City, Hainan Province.
The Dongsha Airport has a 2.5 km long runway that can meet the take-off and landing needs of medium-sized passenger aircraft. The airport has a terminal building that can accommodate 200 people waiting for flights at the same time. The airport is equipped with passenger transportation, baggage, air traffic control, air security, air handling, meteorological, fire fighting and other service facilities, which can meet the needs of passenger aircraft take-off and landing, maintenance, refueling and waiting for aircraft.
At present, Dongsha Airport can accommodate 20 passenger flights per day, 120 passenger flights per week and 500 passenger flights per month. At present, Dongsha Airport has opened many air routes to Haikou, Sanya, Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Chengdu, Chongqing, Kunming, Guiyang, Hangzhou, Nanning, Xiamen, Changsha, Wuhan, Xi`an, Zhengzhou, etc.
