Hsinchu Air Force Base (HSZ), located in Hsinchu County, Taiwan, is a major base of the Republic of China Air Force and one of the main bases of the Taiwan Air Force. The base is located in the northern part of Hsinchu County, just a few dozen kilometers from the Taiwan Strait, and is a forward base for the Taiwan Air Force and an important strategic location for the Taiwan Air Force.
Established in 1946, Hsinchu Air Base was one of the earliest bases of the Taiwan Air Force. The base covers an area of about 3.2 square kilometers and has over 20 runways that can accommodate many types of aircraft, including F-16s, F-5Es, F-CK-1s, F-4Es, F-104s, and others. The base also has a training center that provides training and education for Air Force pilots.
