Bujumbura International Airport (BIA), located in Bujumbura, is the main international airport of the Republic of Bujumbura and the largest in the country. The airport is located about 20 km west of Bujumbura city and about 25 km from Bujumbura city center. The airport is managed by the Bujumbura government and operated by Air Burundi.
The airport has a main international terminal, as well as a small domestic terminal. The airport has a 2,400 meter runway that can accommodate large passenger aircraft. The airport also has an apron that can accommodate four aircraft.
The airport offers international and domestic flight services, connecting Bujumbura with flights from all over the world. The airport offers approximately 20 international flights per week, including flights to Rwanda, Egypt, Kenya, South Africa, Uganda and the United States. In addition, the airport offers domestic flight services connecting cities throughout Bujumbura.
