Dazu Air Force Base is located in Dazu District, Chongqing City, and is an important base of the Chinese People's Liberation Army Air Force. The base was built in 1958 and was once one of the important locations for the Chinese Air Force's aviation units, mainly responsible for strategic air defense and air force fighter training, as well as the important task of ensuring economic construction and national security in the southwest region.
Dazu Air Base covers an area of about 8,000 acres, with a 3,000-meter-long runway and several flight areas, as well as various institutions and facilities for command, communications, intelligence, logistics and training. The air force units currently stationed at the base include fighter jets, helicopters, early warning aircraft and many other combat units.
