Guiyang Longdongbao International Airport is located in Baiyun District, Guiyang City, Guizhou Province, and is one of the major civil airports in Guizhou Province. The airport started its construction on June 28, 1997 and was officially opened to traffic on May 28, 2000. In January 2012, the airport was upgraded to an international airport and renamed as Guiyang Longdongbao International Airport.
Guiyang Longdongbao International Airport currently has two runways, of which the main runway is 3,200 meters long and 60 meters wide to accommodate the take-off and landing of large passenger aircraft. The airport's terminal building covers an area of 114,000 square meters and can accommodate 20 near-aircraft seats at the same time, with an annual passenger throughput of 25 million passengers.
Guiyang Longdongbao International Airport is the air gateway to Guizhou Province, connecting routes to eastern, southern, central and western China as well as Southeast and South Asia. As of 2021, the airport has opened nearly 300 domestic and international routes, covering all major cities in China as well as many countries and regions such as Japan, Korea, Thailand, Malaysia and Vietnam.
